Illustration has always been the driving force behind my passion for graphic design, serving as the initial catalyst that led me into this creative field. It continues to be the medium through which I discover the perfect blend of work and enjoyment, allowing me to express my creativity and artistic expression.
I am deeply passionate about leveraging my innate illustration skills and conceptual strength to transform data into captivating visual representations. Whether it involves creating engaging infographics, illustrating informative tips and tricks, or crafting imaginative timelines, I thrive on the opportunity to breathe life into facts and information through visually appealing and easily understandable formats.
This completely non-scientific representation of favorite road trip snacks was built using responses to an informal social media survey. I created generic illustrations of the categories and used the colors from those illustrations to correspond to the ring graph.
For this infographic, which contains general knowledge as well as survival tips, I wanted to stay away from showing any tragedy. Instead I used a simple lifestyle illustration; the tips are tied to different elements and the knowledge cascades down behind it, starting with icons and ending in descriptions.
This was Esurance's first infographic and I kept it as straightforward as possible; using both original and stock sourced illustrations, I created a simple road through time, showing past, present, and humorous possible future.
I have been fortunate to utilize my illustration skills to support various businesses in San Francisco and across California by creating distinctive graphic marks that enhance their public recognition and promotion.
Driven by my genuine passion for the growth and success of small businesses in San Francisco, I have undertaken this endeavor through both pro bono and contracted engagements. I was sub-contracted as an illustrator by then-SF-based Kosaka Design to develop this logo. The client eventually landed on this simple approximation of a vineyard worker, whom they have since named “Vin.”
Drawing has always held a special place in my heart, and my journey with digital illustration began back in the mid-90s with Adobe Illustrator 3. Since then, I have been captivated by the ever-evolving landscape of computer technology, which has expanded the horizons of illustration and unlocked a realm of limitless possibilities. Exploring the boundless capabilities afforded by digital tools has been a continuous source of joy and inspiration for me as an artist.
After a severe bicycle accident I was unable to do much outside of sitting in front of my computer. Reminiscing over a lifetime of injuries, I decided to chronicle them in an illustrative way. I’m sad to say that this compilation is now even more out of date, as I’ve been banged up a few more times since then.
My BMX/skate background and punk rock sensibilities have always led me to satirical observations. This is one of many alternate takes on mainstream art that I’ve created.
